St. Francis Thrift Shop operates under St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, which is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation under the Diocese of Charleston. Donations are fully deductible under the law. By supporting St. Francis Thrift Shop, you are supporting over 25 different charities in the surrounding community as well as our parish school through scholarships and additional funding. In addition to helping organizations like Meals on Wheels, Hunger and Homeless Coalition, Childrens Relief Fund, Volunteers in Medicine, the Pregnancy Center and Clinic of the Low Country, and Programs for Exceptional People (P.E.P.).

We also have a community outreach program for individuals in need of assistance. We have over 260 volunteers who assist in all aspects of keeping our thrift shop stocked with donations by sorting and pricing clothing and housewares, organizing floor displays, managing the furniture epartment and storage facility, and cashier duties. We operate as a family, helping each other and the community around us, serving God by serving others.
